Sunflower Stars placed 1st in the Bed Quilt category at the Decatur Quilt Fest this weekend!  I was absolutely thrilled!  I really wasn’t expecting to win, but was grateful for all the compliments I received on it.  I literally jumped up and down with glee when I found I had received a blue ribbon!  My friends Erika and Connie both got ribbons too.  Connie got a 2nd place ribbon in the lap quilt category and Erika got a 3rd place ribbon in the embroidered quilt category.  There were over 250 quilts entered and around 68 in my category alone — and they all were fantastic!  I saw some great inspiration quilts.  Over 1000 people visited the Quilt Fest.  It was a viewer’s choice judging, so it really means a lot that people who didn’t know me voted for my quilt!  I also picked up some fabric and other goodies.  It was a very good day all around!  I had a silly smile on my face the rest of the day!  🙂
